On the topic of DMCA:
The DMCA is bullshit law designed to stop people sharing their opinions and beliefs, and it does not benefit the creators who work hard to make music movies and television. It benefits the evil men in suits who run Hollywood and the music industry. You never see the creators advocating for these laws, it is the suits who steal money from the hard working directors, actors and musicians.

Over the past few years the DMCA has become a tool to censor. In order to avoid pesky inconvenient law many file their DMCAs using offshore "DMCA agencies" in countries like Canada, the United Kingdom, Estonia and Greece. The most high-profile case I can think of in recent times is when Sony used a company in the United Kingdom named "MUSO" to file bullshit DMCA complaints to sites talking about leaked footage from their upcoming game, The Last of Us Part II. Many people don't understand that these are illegal notifications and that their rights are being abused, they see a big company with lots of money and they fold. In fact, some of these DMCA agencies automate their takedown notifications, even though that these are sent under PENALTY OF PERJURY. Only once in history has an entity been punished for filing a DMCA takedown notification on false grounds, Diebold (the voting machine company, now called Dominion I believe?), because they were trying to censor people discussing their leaked emails after the very controversial 2000 election where Al Gore famously lost Florida by approximately 600 votes.

Repeal the DMCA!

On the topic of free speech:

The capitalist approach to editorializing internet communications over the past few years is a development of great concern to me. Not too long ago, the internet used to be a much freer place. You could say whatever you want to whoever you want, and you didn't have to fear being punished. You were free to discuss whatever ideas you wanted and develop your understanding of any topic you wanted. I grew up using anonymous websites and chatrooms and it hurts my heart to see them be censored in the way they are now. I'm 17 and seeing my friends my age use spying platforms like Instagram and Twitter which use their power over the population's feelings to spread their agenda and silence others concerns me. Nowadays domain registrars, hosting platforms and even ISPs vigilantly censor content and try to stop distribution of whatever they deem dangerous without any regard for the law or due process. This shuts down any competition which the Big Tech monopolies may have.

Recently T1 ISPs, the people who run the internet and have the final say on what goes, have started to censor and that is undoubtedly scary to me:
- Daily Stormer[1] has been null-routed by Voxility[2] and Hurricane Electric.
- 8chan has been null-routed by Voxility
- Kiwi Farms's host's colocation provider's remote DDoS mitigation service's ISP (this is four hops up the road now!) refused to announce their subnets, allowing for censorship via DDoS to happen (much like what happened with Brian Krebs and Akamai!)
[1] To be absolutely clear, I do not agree with any ideas that Daily Stormer espouses. I find them sickening and Andrew Anglin's views go against everything I believe in. However, I also believe that Andrew Anglin has a right to free speech just like everyone else does and it's immoral to censor him, or any website for that matter.
[2] Voxility isn't a Tier 1 ISP but a remote DDoS mitigation provider. However, I've included them because they provide an extremely valuable and important service. Without them people can just flood a network with
junk traffic and overload the port and or router, making the websites the network hosts inaccessible.

Personally, I think that domain registrars, T1 ISPs and DDoS mitigation providers are essential services that you NEED to get connected to the internet. I think that allowing them to censor is a threat to the freedom of the many, and we need laws forbidding them from censoring without due process. (except in extreme cases such as child pornography, of course) Often people disagree with me, saying that private companies do have a right to censor. I disagree with this. In a capitalist society companies should have to uphold our human rights. We need rules making the big guys play fair, otherwise we become an oligarchy.

Personally, I do not see the situation getting better. I believe we will sink to hell and we will eventually have a government controlled internet. There is nothing more valuable to a government than control over the internet, as it gives them control over the flow of information, allowing them to choose what people know about, think and feel. In the hands of the people, we can enrich ourselves by sharing knowledge.

I would love to hear what everybody else in this comment section thinks about my thoughts.
