  1. Followed C Smith for years and enjoy this format. I subscribed last week, but have not received notifications.

    One thing Charles hits on, but not in this debate is the role
    of “corruption” and those who support it.
    This is a global and historical problem.

    Re slums and warlords
    I am reminded of a story from Bombay 40 years ago, where a local mafia guy helped the slums organize toilets, something the city was unwilling to do.
