The US government quietly registered both alien.gov and aliens.gov on March 17th, according to publicly available federal domain records. The domains were registered through CISA (the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency under DHS) and are currently hosted on Cloudflare — but neither resolves to a live website yet.

When asked about the registrations, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly responded with two words and an emoji: “Stay tuned! 👽” — notably the same alien emoji that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth used when reposting Trump’s pledge last month to release government files on extraterrestrial life, UAPs, and UFOs.

The timing is hard to ignore. The domain registration comes about a month after Trump said he would direct the government to begin releasing files related to aliens and UAP, which was itself triggered by Obama telling podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen that aliens were “real” (he later walked it back as a statistical observation).

A House hearing in July 2023 featured testimony from whistleblower David Grusch, who asserted the Pentagon is withholding information about a multi-decade program to reverse-engineer nonhuman technology NewsNation. The Pentagon denies this.

On prediction markets, the odds of alien confirmation before 2027 surged to 16% with $17 million in volume so far (by comparison, a separate betting market has since sprung up that it will turn out to be an immigration website – only $14K has been bet on that one so far).

Also worth noting that the US government has paused accepting new .gov domain requests due to a funding lapse, making these an exception to the freeze.
