Charles, Jesse and Mark are back again and found themselves talking about the farmer’s protest in India, Twitter and the cognitive dissonance that can arise when you find yourself agreeing with the tech platforms you’ve been criticizing.

Fellows, I hate to rain on your parade, but you’ve missed the boat completely on the South. I’ve lived here 50 years. I’ve been in every county in the South. Every single one of them including the swamps of South Alabama, deserts of Texas and mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina. The divide is not racial. It never really has been. It’s urban versus rural. Nanny/welfare state versus leave me alone/self sufficient-ism.
The South had Jews before the North. It had blacks before the North. It had Europeans before the North. It had Latinos before the North. It was a melting pot a century before the rabid, northern Puritans ever thought about it constructing such a narrative.
Put away your books and come South. I’ll put you up and feed you better than you’ve ever been fed before. Until you come and live a while, you’re pissing in the wind if you think you know this section of the world.
Hi Guys,
It would be interesting to hear you discuss real estate bubbles, is Canada in one now? current limits to home ownership by the bottom 97%, what happened with home and land ownership in the past during economic depressions and regime changes and how can we make land and home ownership easier for the bottom 97% now, or will the nation state just steal it away from us in the near future?
Always enjoy the podcasts, thanks!
This is a follow on to the link above. I think that the systemic dynamics involved in this are extremely byzantine, and the link above suggests there may be a story behind the Indian Government’s desire to shut down certain social media spigots. It sounds like a manufactured crisis and the set up of a strawman of the Indian Govt being evil and against the people. I just watched the US population think that the Russians hacked the DNC and that Trump was colluding with the Russians, and we know better now.
I also want to thank you for the mention of the Empire of Food – I have been swimming in that book over the past three days, and I think that Evan Fraser has weaved together a few very important threads, including making sense of the work of Valentina Zharkova and what we are going to be facing in the next 30 years.
Finally, thanks to Mark for going on Bannon’s Warroom – it was a good discussion of transhumanism and got me back into your work – I hope others were also awakened or reawakened. Thanks!
PS – I gues it was edited, but I posted a link that Greta T accidentally leaked a playbook that involved a international attempt to use psyops to influence the outcome of the current struggles between the indian govt and the farmers.
